Headway into Hospitality

Embark on your hospitality career journey with QHA’s Headway Into Hospitality program.  This entry-level initiative equips you with the necessary skills and knowledge to secure a position in the hospitality sector.

At the QHA, we represent and advocate for the wellbeing of hospitality businesses across the state of Queensland as a peak industry body, so join us today and make your mark in the industry.

This program includes:

• SIT30622 Certificate III in Hospitality

• Responsible Service of Alcohol

• Responsible Service of Gambling

• Barista Training

• Food Safety Supervisor

• Employability Skills

• Site Visits

• Industry work placement spots to complete service period hours (+36 shifts)

The course will run for 10 weeks face to face training (Will be a 2 week break over Christmas/New Year).  Start Date 1st December 2025 (date subject to change, based on student enrolments)

Days:   Monday – Thursday

Time:   8.30am – 3.30pm  (courses start on time)

Cost:   FUNDED 

Location:   Brisbane City 

We work directly with a variety of QHA connected venues, including The Westin, Amora and Mantra to provide placement opportunities to each participant.  This leaves them with practical industry knowledge and necessary, firsthand experience to successfully gain employment.  We are also connected with Sidekicker – a leading staffing platform servicing over 1,000 businesses and averaging 400 shifts per week in Brisbane primarily in food and beverage.

This program is ideal for:

• Individuals currently unemployed and seeking a pathway into hospitality

• Casual or younger staff who are underemployed or looking to upskill

• Anyone with the right attitude and interest in building a career in the sector
